Beautiful Disaster Butterfly

From the first time I saw this butterfly by Unity, I knew it must be mine! I can't wait to make
lots of cards with it :) Here is my first.
I colored the stamp with a Faber Castell big brush pen in blue, and the smaller size metallic pen. You can't really see the metallic in the picture, but it's so pretty!
After stamping the butterfly I had to find paper. Luckily I remembered Stampin' Up's blueberry paper. The background paper is from Magnolia. It's been in my stash for awhile.
I got one of my little Prima roses out and spritzed it lightly with some Glimmer Mist.

Thank you for stopping in :)
Have a great day!!!

Another Restoration Card

After not using the Restoration paper for a long time I can hardly not use it now.
I used the Card Patterns Sketch 121. It's pictured at the bottom of this post. Also submitting to
The doily was sprayed with Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist, then sponged lightly with Tim Holtz Old Paper Distress Ink.
The delicious trim is Webster's Pages. Yum!
I made the label using Nestabilities. I sponged it lightly with the Distress Ink.
The brown rhinestones on the label and butterfly are Kaiser Kraft, but they were too light so I colored them with a Copic.
The Unity Butterfly image was heat embossed and cut out. I used a Copic to darken the image toward the middle.

Thank you for looking in!
Have an awesome day!

Restoration Shabby

Shabby as all heck :) I wanted to go really shabby on this card, and I think I did that.
I used Crate Paper's Restoration paper. Love it! I've had it for awhile, but I've hardly used it.
The doily is sponged with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Old Paper, then Shabby Shutters around the edge.
I made the little flower out of white crepe paper. I cut a piece lengthwise in half. I then folded that in half lengthwise. I stitched right at the fold with a running stitch. Next I colored the whole strip with a couple of Copics. I pulled the thread to gather the crepe paper. It curls up on itself, forming a flower. I put a stitch in it to hold it together, then sewed a button on it. I thought it turned out so cute ;)
The ribbon was white seam binding colored with Vintage Pink Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.
The butterfly was heat embossed with Zing Embossing Powder, cut out, and mounted with glue dots.
Thanks for stopping in!
Have a phenomenal day!

New Baby Quilt

As you may have seen, my baby sister had a little baby boy last week :) Here is a card for her and her husband.
I used the Tuesday Trigger from Moxie Fab World for the inspiration. Perfect timing!

The quilt was colored with Copics. The little blue ribbon was also. It wasn't quite the color I wanted. I added the little blades of grass with a Copic Multiliner, then went over it with a green Copic.
The designer paper used is Wild Asparagus from my stash.
Thank you for looking!
Have a phenomenal day!!!

Sweet Strawberry

It's that time of year! Fresh berries! Yum1
I love this strawberry stamp! I colored it with Copics and covered it with Paper Glaze, and highlighted parts with a white Sharpie Poster Paint pen. It was mounted on part of a shipping tag. I covered the tag with Tim Holtz Distress Ink and dropped water drops on it. You can see the "Sweet" tag on the bottom to see the effect. Unity has a video on the blog showing how to do this with the new Distress Stains.
Back to the tag. I stamped it with Unity's Worn Grid stamp. I wanted the tag, but I wanted a circle to mount the strawberry on, so I punched out a circle from the tag, keeping the brown hole. I used the remaining part of the tag for the sentiment.
I used the Deconstructed Sketch #6 for the layout. I like that it resembles a fence :)
Well, that's it for today. Happy Friends with Flair Friday ;)

Thank You For the Record

CPS has a great sketch this week. I wasn't sure what I would do with it, but once I got going
 it kind of made itself.
I knew it was missing something, but while I was lying in bed it came to me; rhinestones! I didn't have any yellow ones, so I colored some clear ones with my Copics :)
The main image is a sticker that came on a sheet of stickers to coordinate with Echo Park's For the Record collection. The "Thank You" sentiment is Unity.
Thank you for stopping in :) Have a fantastic day!

Summer Time!

Unity Place had this tag challenge, so I made a tag that was in a previous post. Then I made another one :) I made a card to add the tag to. It's so bright and summery! Since yesterday was the first day of summer it fits!
I covered the tag with Tim Holtz Distress Ink and dropped some water on it. Unity had a video on YouTube showing this using the new Distress Stains. I don't have the stains, so I just used the Distress Ink. Cool effect!
The sun was colored with Copics. Fun to color ;)
Some more fun stamps and trim and we're good to go :)
The cloud is from the July, 2009 Kit of the Month. The sentiment is from the June, 2010 Kit of the Month. The kite is from the April, 2009 Kit of the Month. I can't find where the sun came from, but I know it was Unity.
The layout is from this week's Mojo Monday
I'll also submit this to Unity's Challenge, Sun & Fun!
Thank you for stopping by! Have a great day!

Pretty Unity Tag

My Unity Place has a tag challenge going on right now, so I got out some tags and went to work!
This tag is pretty darn big. It's 6" x 3 1/4". I used the Unity set, Birdie Duet. I heat embossed the image and sentiment.
The birds were colored with a Copic.

Thank you for stopping in ;)
Have an awesome day!

Father's Day Cards

With such a crazy week I don't know how I got any cards done, but I did! A couple anyway.
Here is my father-in-law's card. We love that guy!
I used the sketch from Deconstructing Jen.
The Deconstructed Sketch No. 6

This second card is for my hubby. Another great guy! I used the paper from The Girls' Paperie, "On Holiday." Love that for men and boys.
I added the grass, and the oval to ground the image. Colored with Copics, with Spica markers on the little accents and smoke swirls. I had no navy rikrak, so I colored white rikrak with a navy
Copic.
I added the burgers to the grill :)
These cards are both being submitted to All Things Unity Challenge #33, Get Manly :)
Thanks for stopping in :)
Have a great day!

Welcome Baby Eli!

I have a new nephew! Eli was born to my sister Chrissy and her husband Kevin last night! He was a long time coming! They have tried for years and had a loss, so this guy is so loved and wanted!
I was lucky enough to be in town (they live 2 hours away) after taking my mom home from the hospital, so I got to see the little guy in his first hour on earth! What a blessing he is!
I am making a book for him and his parents :)
Digital scrapbooking done with Creative Memories Storybook Creator.
Have a great day everyone!!!

Been MIA

Sorry I have been missing in action. We had my son's graduation party last weekend. Lots of work, but well worth it :) .
Then my mom got very sick with pneumonia and sepsis and ended up in ICU on a ventilator. She was on her way home from the grad party and decided she couldn't go any further. She made it a half hour away, and stopped at an ER. Of course if we knew how sick she was we never would have let her leave, but she likes to keep those things to herself. Stinker. So my dad is staying with me and we have been running back and forth to the hospital every day.
Off we go again. She should be off the ventilator today, so hopefully she'll be out of the hospital by the end of the weekend. I'll be back in my graft room in no time.

Some Simple and Sweet Cards

Well, I tried to follow the sketch for Unity's Kit of the Month Sketch. After I cut the floral paper I realized I flipped the diagonal, but I was not wasting this paper! So flipped it is!

I used the December, 2010 Kit of the Month for the sentiment. Then I blew it again and used the flowers from the Get Scrappy With Material Girl kit instead of some from a Kit of the Month. Oh well. I still LOVE it!!! The papers are October Afternoon Seaside. I love the wood papers ;)

This next card is for the All Things Unity "From the Hearth" Challenge. The challenge was to use food inspired stamps.
The apples are from the October, 2010 Kit of the Month. Paper from Cosmo Cricket.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog!
Have an awesome day :)

Quick Thank You

A quick card using the current CPS sketch
Paper is October Afternoon with a little MME mixed in. Stamps are Unity, of course.
The little flowers were die cut using the Blossom Nestie. I cut little slits toward the middle, then used my stylus and shaped the petals a little. I added the SU brads to the middles.
The ribbon is from some packaging for something I bought.
Thanks for checking in :) Have an awesome day!

Card Patterns 118

What a fun sketch! When I saw it I immediately thought landscape.
While I was moving things around last week I ran across my stash of rarely used felt from PTI. Lightbulb moment :)
I freehand cut the felt grass, as well as the paper grass.  The bird is punched from an SU punch. The circle for the sun is also. Those little buttons are SU too.
The "thank you" is Unity, as is the frame. The base of the card is PTI Vintage Cream. I wanted more muted colors, and the colors of the felt and buttons worked perfectly.
Thank you for looking :)  I hope you all have a fantastic day!
