Grad Card For A Beautiful Young Lady

Tomorrow is the last graduation open house of the season for us. The young lady this card is for is our neighbor's granddaughter, and we've known her her whole life. Time sure does fly!
The paper I used is from Crate Paper's Portrait Collection. So many beautiful papers!
I used a stamp from Unity (I know, big surprise). The sentiment is from the January, 2011 Kit of the Month. Perfect for graduation.
I used the Deconstructing Jen Sketch. Instead of another piece of paper down the middle, I'm using the design of the paper.

Thanks for stopping by! Have an awesome weekend!

A Double Challenge Shot

The Play Date Cafe has a color challenge this week that I had to try. I've never done a PDC Challenge before, so I thought I'd try. The colors are shown below my card. I think I got pretty close.

The papers I used are Basic Grey Nook & Pantry. I've hardly used it before, but I'm on a mission to use what I have! These were perfect for the challenge!
Instead of an image, I wanted to use a sentiment. Unity of course! I grabbed a scrap of white cs (good girl ;) ) and stamped and cut it out with a Nestability die. It wasn't until I mounted it that I noticed I had grabbed a piece of shimmer cardstock from SU. I wouldn't have done that on purpose, but it was a very happy accident! I layered that with a piece of dp cut with a PTI die.
I didn't have any twine with yellow, so I kind of made my own ;) . I used white crochet thread, and I used a yellow Copic to add little lines. I saw that idea on a blog somewhere, but I'm sorry I can't remember where. On one corner I layered a tiny button on a bigger one. I love layering buttons. It adds just a little extra somethin'.
I can't forget to mention the layout came from Deconstructing Jen's Deconstructed Sketch #8.

I love it!

Beautiful Disaster Butterfly

From the first time I saw this butterfly by Unity, I knew it must be mine! I can't wait to make
lots of cards with it :) Here is my first.
I colored the stamp with a Faber Castell big brush pen in blue, and the smaller size metallic pen. You can't really see the metallic in the picture, but it's so pretty!
After stamping the butterfly I had to find paper. Luckily I remembered Stampin' Up's blueberry paper. The background paper is from Magnolia. It's been in my stash for awhile.
I got one of my little Prima roses out and spritzed it lightly with some Glimmer Mist.

Thank you for stopping in :)
Have a great day!!!

Girlfriend Card

Deconstructing Jen has another Deconstructed Sketch on her blog. I flipped it to accommodate this gorgeous Unity Stamp from the May, 2009 Kit of the Month (an oldie, but goodie).
The paper is from Pink Paislee's 365 Degrees.
I love the little paper ribbon :) It turned out just how I envisioned. It's hard to see in the pics, but after stamping the image I went over it with black and clear Copic Spica Pens. It leaves a nice little shimmer.
The Prima flower also has some shimmer. It was very pink, and I needed a more red flower, so I sprayed it with Peppermint Stick Glimmer Mist. The rhinestones are from the Lush line by My Mind's Eye.
The perfect touch :)
Thank you for popping in!
Have a most fantastic day!!!
