Flowers and Love

Hip Hop Sketch Challenge 22!
I think this sketch may help me get my mojo back! I love this paper, Alphabet Soup from My Mind's Eye. So colorful!
I used my new felt from PTI! Love it! It's so yummy! Feels so soft! I cut the circle with my circle punch. Wasn't so sure that would work, but it did. The flower and leaves are cut from Nesties. I put a pile of glue in the center of the flower and put some beads in the glue.
That reminds me, I have been using Aleene's Clear Gel Tacky Glue on everything! I use it to make flowers, to adhere flowers, and I used it to adhere the felt shapes here. I know there are some expensive glues out there. This was under $2 at Walmart! It's a pretty good size too. Save yourself some money to spend on stamps!

Happy Friends With Flair Friday

Hi everyone. Hope you are all having a great day! Make sure you go to Unity to start the Friends With Flair hop. You don't want to miss anyone's gorgeous work!
I have to say I paper piecced the heck out of this jukebox! I went over every line with a black glaze pen.
I used the August Kit of the Month for "All you need is Love." Whenever I saw these words I thought of the song. FYI, The "All you need is" is separate and there are other words to put there besides love. The music is from the October, '09 Kit of the Month. The jukebox is from the March, '10 Kit of the Month.
The paper I used is from My Mind's Eye, Alphabet Soup. The cardstock is from Papertrey Ink.
I wish I had been putting cards up all week, but last week's Growing in Unity zapped my stamping mojo! I can feel it coming back, so hopefully there will be more soon!
Thanks for popping in! Thanks for the comments ;) I love them!
Have an awesome weekend!!!

The Grand Finale for Growing In Unity!!!

This week has been fantastic! I have tried to give you all and Unity my best work, and I have loved every minute of it! This last project is one of my favorites.
I had this very inexpensive, very plain, canvas tote bags. I decided to attempt to channel my inner Donna Downey for this one. She rocks! I painted the bag with acrylic paint, and painted the edges darker.
I stamped Unity's Worn Grid as a background for the flowers with SU white craft ink, then Purely Entwined, a Unity stamp by Donna Downey, in navy. I also stamped the verse from Donna Downey's Unity set "She" in navy. First I smeared some SU craft white ink in the area I wanted to stamp on.

It was ok, but not quite what I wanted. So on went the Primas! First I sprayed them with white Smooch spray for a little shimmer. If I'm going for it I may as well go all the way eh? I figured I should add some real bling, so I added these gorgeous rhinestones, Lush from My Minds Eye.
I added some pearls also.

The top of the bag looked naked, so I added some plain twill, some leaf ribbon, teeny flowers, and more rhinestones.

The verse wasn't showing up like I wanted it to, so I went over it with a Sakura Stardust pen. That made it worse, so I went over that with a black Sharpie pen. It worked great, and you could still see the shimmer from the Stardust pen.

So here's the final product! I must say I loveth it! I will probably add some more to it over time, and I do have to finish the back. I'll show the progress on that as I finish it.
Thank you for sharing this week with me! I appreciate all of the comments! Don't forget, your names will be put into a drawing for a prize from Unity on Saturday. Check back for that ;)
I kind of forgot, this is for Unity Friends with Flair too! Next up in the hop is Angie Blom's blog. She's pretty awesome! Enjoy!

Growing in Unity Day 4!!!!

This is day 4 of Growing in Unity, and I'm having a blast! I love Unity!

This card gave me some trouble, but I let it sit a couple of days and it all came together. I used Basic Grey paper as well as Pink Paislee 365 Degrees for the verse. There are black rhinestones on the middle of the butterfly and black glaze pen used for the antenna.
Below is a nice simple card using the Hip Hop Sketch. It has a little down home vibe. It reminds me of my grandma :) I used the October Afternoon Thrift Shop paper for this little number.

I got these nifty little note pads from Papertrey. I knew I had to make some cute little note pads using Unity of course! Here are two versions.

These were inspired by Michelle Wooderson. I love her style.
These strawberries were stamped on SU Confetti Cream cs, then colored with SU markers. I don't recommend that cs for blending at all. I don't know what I was thinking! It turned out ok though. I put all kinds of stuff on these note pads. The tickets I actually got from Michelle Wooderson's Etsy shop. The little circles are punched out from the October Afternoon paper Fly a Kite, then topped with epoxy stickers. Makes a great accent. Buttons are SU.
Thanks for peeking in! I really appreciate it. Love comments too ;) Don't forget, when you comment on my Growing in Unity posts this week you get entered into a drawing for some Unity! Gotta love that!
Have a great day!!!

Growing In Unity Day 3!!!!!

Welcome to Day 3 of Growing In Unity! I love this project! I bought this 7 Gypsies Printer's Tray and had no idea what I would put in it. The only thing I knew for sure was I was going to use Unity stamps!

I cut Canvas Paper to fit the sections. I painted them with acrylic paint to coordinate with the SU DP I chose to use because it coordinates with the colors in my craft room ;)
I wanted to decorate each section differently. This is all so me! The section on the right above has flowers which were cut out of the designer paper. I put Ranger matte medium on them for a little stability and shine.
Under the house image above is a piece of Japanese masking tape from Love My Tapes.
I wish Glimmer Mist was easier to photograph! The green section above is completely covered in Olive GM. The heart is colored in with the GM. I saw Marion Smith do this by dipping a paintbrush in the bottle. It blurred the ink a bit, but I kind of like it that way.
The butterfly, the "perfect" tag, and the ribbon are also sprayed. I used gold Smooch Spray. The bow in the right section has a beautiful jeweled button from Webster's Pages on it. So pretty!
the section on the left above has some wide twill with Japanese masking tape across it. The flower in the corner is actually two flowers stacked for more volume. The "family" tag is sponged with Tim Holtz Old Paper Distress Ink. The flowers in the right section were as white as the ones in the left section, but I sprayed them with Sea Glass Glimmer Mist.
Love this lace from Fancy Pants. The section on the right has a metal embellishment from SEI with an SU rub on.
The green section above has some Tim Holtz Grunge Board die cuts that I found at an outlet store for cheap! Sprayed them with Gold Smooch Spray. The heart was from a Donna Downey kit. It's sprayed with White Smooch Spray. Just yummy!!! The last section has a flower that is a combination of 3 different flowers layered to make one big full flower!
Thanks for checking in today. I hope you like it as much as I liked making it. Make sure you comment and come back the rest of the week to be entered in the drawing!

Growing in Unity Day 2!!!!!

This is soooo exciting! I am loving Growing in Unity! This card is a recycle of one I did quite awhile back. I changed it up to the blues from SU's Blueberry Crisp DP. In love with that paper!

Love this gorgeous button! It's from Webster's Pages. Great vintage vibe!

I paper pieced the belt with some of the DP. I used my white pen on the pearls, then a clear glaze pen over that.
Thanks for popping in! I have some fantastic projects coming up this week! Make sure you come back. You do not want to miss these!
Remember to leave a comment to be put in the prize drawing at the end of the week!
Have a great day!!!

Growing In Unity First Card!

It's my turn to host Growing in Unity! I am so excited! Anyone who knows me knows how much I LOVE Unity! I thought I'd take my turn to show some Unity love ;) And if you comment there may be a prize in it for you! There will be a drawing at the end of the week!
These adorable birds are from June's Kit of the Month, Fly....Free. How cute are they!
I love buttons! I'm always trying something different. Here I punched a circle of the paper to layer between the two buttons. More color without the bulk of another button.
I used Copics! Yikes, that pink is a little sensitive! I haven't really used them on a project before. I have a few, but haven't used them hardly at all. I know I want more now! I am pretty proud of that little blue bird though!

Thanks for stopping by, and come back tomorrow for another project or two!

Etsy Inspired Challenge!

It's the 100th Etsy Inspired Challenge! I've only done one of these before, but it's fun and I couldn't miss the 100th! The Etsy shop featured this week is Cathy Walters. She has fantastic pendants! The one below was the first one I saw when going to her shop. I loved it immediately.
This is my card inspired by the pendant. It's so simple, and you know I like to muck it up a lot. There are no ribbons, no flowers, no buttons! I love it though! I used October Afternoon paper. I used Tim Holtz Aged Paper Distress Ink on the edges of the white, the yellow print and to stamp the basket. There is no coloring either. I thought that would distract from the whole idea of the card. I used Unity stamps. The "journey" stamp is from the February, 2009 KOM, Endings & Beginnings. The balloon is from the December, 2009 KOM, Delightful Moments.
Thanks for looking! Have an awesome day!
Thanks for leaving a comment ;)
