A Proud Moment (and a peek at my crazy creative process)

I think I am most proud of this card than any other I have ever done. Sometimes I don't go far enough. Other times I go too far. This time I think I got it just right! Here is a look at how I design cards, scrapbook pages, etc. Some people know exactly what they're going to do before they start. I haven't a clue
I am not very good at mixing patterned paper. I was determined to do it this time! I grabbed my Basic Grey Figgy paper and started flipping through. I saw the snowflake paper first and flipped to the next page and Bam! I got it!
I already had the snowflake cut out and embossed with the Cuttlebug. It was already glittered up too. I didn't know what I was going to do with it, but I was inspired by Anna Wight's snowflakes lately. She's phenominal! I have these felt snowflakes from SU that I need to use, so I layered them and topped with a Swarovski Aurora Borealis rhinestone (I found a whole bag leftover from my daughter's competitive figure skating days!). Shazaam!
I knew I wanted to use my NEW Labels 2 Nesties for the sentiment. I remembered the Unity Christmas sentiment that I got a little while ago! It had brackets on either end that I love, but wouldn't work for a more square die cut, so I masked the brackets off and stamped just the sentiment. Loved it! I sponged the die cut lightly with SU Basic Brown before removing it from the die. (I was squealing just finally feeling good enough to finally play with them!) I thought it needed something so I edged it with my Stardust pen. YAY! I popped it up on two layers of dimensionals to clear the ruffled ribbon (retired SU).
Ok, it was almost there, but it was still missing something. It looked unbalanced, plus it only had two elements on it. It needed something in the lower left. I had these Swarovski crystals. Oh, here's a little scrap of the DP that I trimmed off. I'll see if the crystals will actually stick to paper with the Crystal Effects. Let it dry. It sticks! Yay! I was originally going to stick the crystals to the polka dot paper, but it looks cute on this little strip. Hey, I think I'll just put them on this strip and put the strip on the card. Yay me! I guess you can't see in the picture (I got crop happy), but the strip goes all the way to the right edge of the card.
I hope you enjoy the card as much as I enjoyed making it! Have a Great Day!!!
