My little sister is having a baby! She has been on total bedrest for quite awhile already, and she's due in June. So I had to make a card for the shower we're having for her in a couple of weeks.
I don't usually go for the purely pastel colors for babies, so this is a great alternative. It's a boy, so the blue was a given. I struggled with this card. A lot of changes along the way. I did the image first, then had to find some paper to go with it. No the greatest idea I've ever had.
Let me say how much I love this quilt stamp from Unity's Kit of the Month from December, 2010. I added the little bird and the grass at the bottom of the posts. I colored it with lots of Copics. My coloring is coming along. I was pretty proud of this one ;) After cutting the image out with Spellbinders dies, I sponged the edges with Tim Holtz Destress Inks while still in the die. The whole image was a little bright for what I was trying to do, so I lightly sponged the entire thing with Old Paper Tim Holtz Distress Ink to tome it down a little. It worked great. The image was mounted on Core'dinations cardstock, then on Crate Paper's Restoration Collection paper. That doily was sponged with Tim Holtz Mustard Seed Distress Ink. I hope enjoyed the card. Have a wonderful day!!!
