Congratulations CPS Card

Congratulations to my sister-in-law who is graduating from college on Friday! I know how hard it is to be an adult college student since I'm one myself. It's a lot of work when you're raising a family. But she finally made it through, and she'll be a teacher now :)
I love the sketch at Card Positioning Systems this week. It's something I never would have thought of on my own. The papers I used are from October Afternoon. I sponged the edges of all of the papers and the doily. I decided to use the paper ribbon like in my previous post. The sentiment is from Unity's January, 2011 Kit of the Month.
Thanks so much for stopping by :)
Have a glorious day!!!

Girlfriend Card

Deconstructing Jen has another Deconstructed Sketch on her blog. I flipped it to accommodate this gorgeous Unity Stamp from the May, 2009 Kit of the Month (an oldie, but goodie).
The paper is from Pink Paislee's 365 Degrees.
I love the little paper ribbon :) It turned out just how I envisioned. It's hard to see in the pics, but after stamping the image I went over it with black and clear Copic Spica Pens. It leaves a nice little shimmer.
The Prima flower also has some shimmer. It was very pink, and I needed a more red flower, so I sprayed it with Peppermint Stick Glimmer Mist. The rhinestones are from the Lush line by My Mind's Eye.
The perfect touch :)
Thank you for popping in!
Have a most fantastic day!!!

Mojo Monday Sketch

Crate Paper's Restoration Collection is full of gorgeous papers, but I rarely use them. After seeing the Mojo Monday Sketch I decided to make a concerted effort to use it. I am so glad i did! It is such beautiful paper!
This is a great sketch too! Very fun to do. The end result is great, no matter how you may try to mess it up ;)
The stamp is from Unity's November 2010 Kit of the Month, Picture Perfect. The inside says. "like how much you mean to me."
I added some Prima Flowers too. I messed with them a little so they didn't look so perfect since the paper is a little shabby. The pink flower wasn't the shade I wanted, so I sprayed it with Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist to tone it down a little. The ribbon was white, and I sprayed it with the Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist also.
The little metal brad is from SU.
Thanks for stopping by! I love company ;)
I'm off to a grad party. Have a fantastic day!

Happy Card!

A fun happy card for today. I used the sketch from Card Positioning Systems.
I know I've said it before, but this Echo Park "For the Record" paper is my fav at the moment! The awesome stamp is UNITY, of course :)
I sprayed these crocheted flowers with Glimmer Mist. The flowers and buttons are from SU.
Thanks for stopping by! Feel free to leave a comment ;)
And have a great day!!!

Original Canvas :)

When I get stressed I go to my craft room. Yesterday was one of those days :/ I was in a really bad mood. I don't know how I created something so bright and cheerful while I was in such a yucky mood, but I did :)
I really enjoyed making this. It's an 11x14 canvas so I was a little nervous.
The papers I used are My Mind's Eye - Bloom & Grow and Fine & Dandy, and Cosmo Cricket - Material Girl.
The background was done using Faber Castell Gelatos over tissue paper for texture. I used various acrylic paints over the papers. Everything was outlined with a Pilot Permaball pen, and highlighted with a Sharpie Poster Paint Pen in white. A little shading on the stems and leaves were done with a Copic marker. I almost forgot, I used the Unity Worn Grid and Distressed Dots Backgrounds for added texture. And of course, Mod Podge over everything :)
Thank you for looking :) I really enjoyed creating this, and couldn't wait to share it with you!
Have an awesome day!!!

My Unity Place Butterfly

My Unity Place has a challenge to make your own background. So I found this butterfly in the February, 2011, Kit of the Month and went to work. I colored the butterflies with Copics (B000, B00, and B02), and went over the outlines with the clear Spica pen. I also went over one entire butterfly, and the sentiment, with the clear Spica.
I cut out the die cut with a die from PTI, then traced the die on black cs and cut the shape out with scissors.
The awesome scroll punch is EK Success.

This card is for a sweet friend's graduation :)
Thank you for stopping by. Have a phenomenal weekend!!!

With Love

A little Friday Night Fun!
I needed to get into my craft room tonight. The stamps I used are from the November, 2010 Unity Kit of the Month.
Paper is from Sassafras' Indie Girl. Cardstock is SU.
I wanted to make the little accent in the corner look a little frilly. I sponged a paper doily with Tim Holtz Old Paper distress Ink (all edges are also sponged with this ink) to make it look old. I cut out the center, then cut a big section out (about 1/4 to 1/3) of what was left. I accordion folded the remaining doily, adhered the ends to each other, and flattened it. Using a pop up glue dot I attached the heart, which was cut out after stamping.  The twine was tied into a double bow behind the doily, but the darn doily covered it up ;) Ink is SU Not Quite Navy.
I'm linking this card up to All Things Unity Challenge #31.
Thank you for popping in :) Have a fantastic weekend!
