Growing in Unity, Day 3

Today I have a canvas for you.
The first thing I did was Mod Podge tissue paper onto the canvas.
I love the texture it gives to the piece.
The background color comes from Faber-Castell Gelatos. Awesome stuff!
I used a Prima mask and Studio Calico Mister Huey for the green swirl design.
This is where the Unity "Harmony" Stamp Set comes in. I love that set! I'm all about peace, love, and harmony! I stamped the images in black StazOn. I went over the peace sign with a Faber-Castell  Big Brush Pitt Pen, then smeared it with my finger to cover the peace sign.
Remember the Magic Mesh from back in the day? I have some that I never used, and  I use it on almost every canvas I make. I use it as a stencil and dab paint over it. It makes a great design. This time I used white Model Magic for some texture and dimension.
I wanted a little more on the canvas, so I stamped the winged heart, but I stamped it with Glimmer Mist! I smeared it on the stamp with my fingers.
Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to come back tomorrow, and comment for a chance to win some Unity Stamps!
Have a great day!

A Little Mini

Hello all, and Happy Friday!
That means it's the last day to enter for a chance to be on the design team for Pumpkin Spice ;)
I made the front and back cover for a mini album I'm creating.
The cover for the album is from Teresa Collins. It was made for the Bind It All, but I decided on ribbon instead.
The papers I used are from my two Favorite paper lines; Crate Paper's "Restoration Collection" and Echo Park's "For the Record." They worked well together too.
Now for some of the How-To's.
I traced the covers onto the papers and cut them out by hand. I glued the papers to the covers with Mod Podge and sanded the edges, then sponged ink on the edges.
The crochet flowers were white and dyed with re-inkers and water. It's great when you can't find just the right color to be able to dye what you have.
All of the stamps I used are of course Unity ;)
I used a lot of Nestabilites for the sentiments and frames for pictures.
These two pages are ready for pictures. There is room under the top left corner of the sentiment panel for a picture to slide in.
I can't wait to slide some pics in here. I'm going to add pages as I go along.
Thank you for stopping by! Have a great weekend :)

Mojo Monday Sketch

Crate Paper's Restoration Collection is full of gorgeous papers, but I rarely use them. After seeing the Mojo Monday Sketch I decided to make a concerted effort to use it. I am so glad i did! It is such beautiful paper!
This is a great sketch too! Very fun to do. The end result is great, no matter how you may try to mess it up ;)
The stamp is from Unity's November 2010 Kit of the Month, Picture Perfect. The inside says. "like how much you mean to me."
I added some Prima Flowers too. I messed with them a little so they didn't look so perfect since the paper is a little shabby. The pink flower wasn't the shade I wanted, so I sprayed it with Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist to tone it down a little. The ribbon was white, and I sprayed it with the Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist also.
The little metal brad is from SU.
Thanks for stopping by! I love company ;)
I'm off to a grad party. Have a fantastic day!

Christmas Ribbon Tree

Another Christmas card today! Not sure why, but I keep reaching for the Christmas paper and stamps. This is for the Unity WCMD Ribbon Challenge. Getting in under the wire ;)
The ornaments on the tree are Webster's Pages Sparklers. So sparkly in person! The presents are Grungeboard pieces that I sprayed with Peppermint Stick Glimmer Mist. I tied some red & white baker's twine on for ribbon. The ribbon is Wild Wasabi from SU. Love that color! The Merry & Bright is Unity from the Merry & Bright Winter Wishes set.
The paper is Imaginesce from last Christmas season. I loved it and bought a bunch. You'll be seeing more of it!
Thank you for stopping in! Love visitors!
Have a terrific day!!!

Etsy Inspired #105

Etsy's shop this week is Handmade Whimsy. So many adorable things to draw inspiration from! I chose these Pink and Copper Poppy Hairpins.

I knew exactly where I wanted to start! I punched the paper circles from the paper packaging we get in all of the goodies we buy. I sprayed them with Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist. Yummy! I edged them with the Chocolate Spica glitter pen! Perfect with the Glimmer Mist! The circles are adhered together, a little offset from the previous layer. I glued some beeds to the center of each flower.

After selecting some designer paper from Basic Grey's Bittersweet I chose this sentiment, which I LOVE! Glimmer Mist is painted in the heart with a paintbrush for a little more shimmer!

That long strip across the card has been sprayed with Glimmer Mist too. Why not, right!
Here's the whole card!
Thank you for visiting! I love to have company! Come back anytime!!!

Friday Friends With Flair Blog Hop

Another Friday Friends with Flair Unity Blog Hop! I used the new Hip Hop Sketch Challenge too.

I found some long forgotten paper tonight. I was so happy since I had received the July Store Kit! The paper was the perfect feel I was going for; optimistic, positive, hopeful. The bird is from the June Kit of the Month. There is a similar bird on this paper, but it got covered up. After stamping the bird with Pixie Pink, I sprayed Cosmos Glimmer Mist. You can see it in the bottom picture, kind of. One of these days I'll learn how to take a picture of my cards so you can actually see how they really look! I also sprayed the die cut while it was still in the die to get that little bitty white edge. Now these stones, I picked up today at Walmart. They're Jolee's All That Bling and they're made by EK Success. They have them in many colors. Yummy. I wish you could see how absolutely sparkly they are. I'm sure some of you have bought some rhinestones and got them home and they aren't nearly as sparkly as they were in the store. These are sparkly! They're irridescent. YUM! Love 'em!
Thanks for stopping by. Remember to go to the Unity blog to start from the beginning. You don't want to miss anyone!
Have an inspiring day!
