More Unity Goodness!

Fall yumminess right here!

I've been wanting to make a card like this for awhile now. I think it's called a Suspension Card. This Unity set, Simple Blessings, is GOR-JUS!!! I love that fall flourish! I inked it up with SU markers and stamped it on Memory Box papers. I inked the pumpkin with markers too. I thought it would be cool to use my Nesties to cut out the shape for the spinner part and the opening. After I got the opening cut out I decided to use that paper for the background of the opening. Kind of neat!
Here's the inside.

This card is made with the Unity/Melody Ross set, One Precious Life. The flower is made from crepe paper. I don't know where I saw how to do it, or if it's just a mash up of different tutorials. I stitched down the whole length of the crepe paper with thread. The stitch isn't down the middle but about 1/3 of the way over. I folded the crepe paper at the stitch and gathered it. It curls up on itself in a spiral. I put some stitches in it to keep it together, and attached the button. It made a nice full flower.

Christmas Gift Cards a la Unity

An assortment of little 3" gift card enclosures.

I'm using these for a Unity WCMD Challenge, Mini Cards.

Close up of the snowflake from Unity's Bright & Merry Winter Wishes. I went over most of the snowflake with the clear Spica pen. The paper I used is Wassail from Basic Grey. A favorite of mine ;)

I went over the entire tree with the clear Spica also.

Of course I had to work a button in somewhere ;)

I went over the entire ornament with various Spicas. These ornaments remind me of my Grandma's ornaments growing up. Great memories.

Postal Challenge - My First Christmas Card This Year

Still working on those Challenges from Unity for World Cardmaking Day!

This one is for the Going Postal Challenge, a card with a matching envelope.

I decided I should start on Christmas cards! I don't enjoy the whole assembly line style. Most of my cards are different. I make them and gather them over a couple of months.

I used Bright and Merry Winter Wishes from Unity. Love this set! It has great ornament stamps too! I realized the snowflake fits perfectly inside this Mat Stack 2 from Papertrey. The red mat behind the designer paper was made by tracing the shape from the die itself, then cutting it out. There is so much detail in this snowflake! I think I'll be using it a lot!

Country Apple of My Eye

A nice country themed apple card! The stamp is from the Flourishes Apple of My Eye set. I paired it with Jenni Bowlin Family Tree mini paper. They go together perfectly! It's all mounted on Cherry Cobbler from SU. Love this color!
I punched this edge with a Martha Stewart punch, then accordian folded it. I wanted a little dimension. I attached it to the card with adhesive on the folds touching the card.

More WCMD Unity Goodies

Still working on those Unity Challenges for WCMD.

This challenge was Stamping on Fabric. I stamped on some twill with SU Old Olive, then added a cut out leaf from the Cosmo Cricket paper and attached it all together with a button and linen thread. It's a nice little accent.
The owl was colored with Copics. Fun stuff!
The sentiment was stamped with Chocolate Chip ink before going over it with a clear glaze pen.

The next card was for the Sketch Challenge.

The first thing I did for this card was emboss the Crumb Cake background with clear embossing powder. Then I sponged the whole background with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress ink. This was mounted on more Crumb Cake CS. The circle shape was made with dotted fabric tape which was pleated. The pumpkin stamp was inked up with SU Pumpkin Pie, then Dusty Durango around the edge. It was popped up on dimensionals, as was the leaf. The lace is by Prima. The twill is from some packaging.

Some World Cardmaking Day Unity Challenges

Unity has lots of great challenges for World Cardmaking Day! You have until October 16 to get all of your entries in, so there's lots of time.

This is for the Shape Card Challenge. LOVE the Labels 17 dies! Love this stamp too! I paper pieced a few of the chairs. So much fun! Love paper piecing! The paper is from Crate Paper Restoration line. Gorgeous stuff!!!
The Inspiration Challenge is awesome. I LOVE this card! I know, I love them all, but I do! So much fun to use this die for the first time. This gorgeous flower is from September's Unity KOM. I colored the stamp with lots of colors of SU markers. Subtle, but I love it. So glad there's a Birthday Card Challenge! I don't make enough birthday cards. So here's a bright, fun one! The patterned paper is Basic Grey Cupcake. I paper pieced the banner and the clouds. The pleats along the bottom are my favorite part I think. I used some maize embossing powder I found in my drawer for the greeting. It's one of those things you forget about, then when you use it you wonder why you never use it.
These are just the first three cards for the challenges. I plan on completing all of them. There are LOTS too!

Kraftin' Kimmie Witchie Poo!

I love her! She's so awesome! And so fun to color! I used a bazillion colors on her.

I put Spica glitter pens allover her too~! If vampires can shimmer and sparkle, so can witches!

It's so hard to photograph (if you don't know what you're doing)! There's glitter in her hair, on her hat, dress, broom. Everything! As usual, everything looks better in person.

The frame was cut out, then with the stencil on, black Spica was used on the embossed areas.
